Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-05-31
The short version
localbot is a service run by Fokusbloks Oy, a Finnish limited company. localbot replaces a website contact form with a smarter form and background agent that can notify you, qualify leads by SMS, and summarize conversations. You pay a monthly or annual subscription. You are responsible for your website, your visitors, your consent wording, and how you use the leads. We do not promise lead volume, perfect AI output, SMS delivery, or uninterrupted service. Finnish law applies.
These terms are written to be readable. They are still a legal agreement between you and Fokusbloks Oy.
1. Who may use localbot
localbot is mainly for businesses and professional users. If you use localbot on behalf of a company, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms for that company. If you use localbot as a consumer, nothing in these terms limits mandatory consumer rights that cannot be waived under Finnish or EU law.
2. Your account
You need an account to use the dashboard and paid service. You must give accurate information, keep your login and API keys secure, and tell us quickly if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity under your account, including activity through API keys, widgets, integrations, and people you allow to use your account.
3. The service
localbot provides a website form widget, lead dashboard, owner notifications, AI-assisted SMS qualification, conversation summaries, setup tools, site scanning, API access, and related features depending on your plan and configuration. The current public price is listed on localbot.io. We may add, change, limit, suspend, or remove features to improve the product, comply with law, protect users, control abuse, or manage third-party dependencies.
The service depends on third parties such as Supabase, Vercel, Stripe, Twilio, Resend, Anthropic, Firecrawl, Upstash, Google Identity Services, telecom providers, and internet networks. Their outages, rules, delivery failures, filtering decisions, pricing changes, or compliance requirements may affect localbot.
4. Your website and visitor obligations
You are responsible for the website where localbot is installed and for all data you collect from visitors. You must provide any privacy notice, lawful basis, consent text, SMS disclosure, terms, and other notices required for your business and location. You must not use localbot to collect data you are not legally allowed to collect.
If SMS follow-up is enabled, you must make sure the lead has clearly agreed to receive the relevant SMS conversation or that another lawful basis applies. You must comply with GDPR, ePrivacy, telecom, consumer protection, anti-spam, and industry rules that apply to you. For US and Canadian messaging, you must provide accurate registration information and sample messages when required.
5. AI-assisted messages
localbot may use AI to ask qualification questions, draft SMS replies, extract public website context, and summarize conversations. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, unsafe for a particular context, or misunderstood by a lead. You are responsible for configuring localbot carefully, reviewing the settings, deciding what the agent may and may not say, and acting on lead information with your own judgment.
localbot does not provide legal, medical, financial, emergency, pricing, professional, or safety advice. Do not configure it to make binding offers, guarantee availability, quote prices, diagnose issues, handle emergencies, or make decisions with legal or similarly significant effects unless you have reviewed the setup and accepted the risk.
6. Payment, renewals, and taxes
Subscriptions are paid upfront monthly or annually. Prices are shown before checkout. Public localbot pricing is currently €299 per month or €2 390 per year, unless you have a separate written agreement or valid promotional offer. Taxes are added where required. Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store payment card details.
Your subscription renews automatically until canceled. If a payment fails, we may retry payment, limit access, stop SMS or AI features, suspend the widget, or cancel the subscription. You are responsible for keeping billing information current.
7. Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel from the dashboard or Stripe billing portal. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not pro-rate partial months or unused message volume unless the law requires it or we agree in writing.
New self-serve subscriptions include a 30-day money-back guarantee. Email hello@localbot.io within the first 30 days for a refund of that first subscription payment. The guarantee does not cover custom work, setup work, integrations, abuse, accounts terminated for violation of these terms, taxes we cannot recover, or separate written agreements.
8. Acceptable use
Don't use localbot to:
- Send spam, unsolicited SMS, unlawful marketing, or messages to people who did not contact you or consent where required
- Hide, remove, or misrepresent consent, opt-out, privacy, or sender disclosures
- Collect or process personal data unlawfully, including special-category data, health data, payment card data, passwords, government identifiers, children's data, or other highly sensitive data without written permission from us
- Use the service for harassment, scams, phishing, malware, surveillance, discrimination, illegal products, adult content, hate, violence, or anything that violates applicable law or provider rules
- Overload, scan, attack, reverse-engineer, bypass limits, scrape, resell, sublicense, or interfere with the service
- Use localbot to make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about a person
- Submit false business, billing, telecom registration, or identity information
We may reject submissions, suppress notifications, throttle, block, suspend, remove data, disable SMS or AI features, cancel numbers, revoke API keys, or close accounts if we believe there is abuse, security risk, non-payment, provider risk, legal risk, or a breach of these terms.
9. Data and privacy
We process personal data under our Privacy Policy. For your website visitors' data, you are the controller and we are the processor. A standard GDPR Data Processing Agreement is available on request from hello@localbot.io.
You keep ownership of your business data and lead data. You grant Fokusbloks Oy and our subprocessors the rights needed to host, process, transmit, secure, analyze, and display that data so we can provide and improve localbot, comply with law, and protect the service.
10. Lead delivery, lead conversation limits, and telecom resources
SMS, email, and AI follow-up may be delayed, filtered, blocked, rate-limited, or undelivered. Lead conversation limits, rate limits, abuse controls, sender numbers, country coverage, 10DLC or telecom approvals, and provider availability may change. Phone numbers provisioned through localbot are service resources, not your property. We may hold, rotate, suspend, or release them when a subscription changes, a number is unused, a provider requires it, or these terms are breached.
If you request SMS from localbot, including the live SMS demo, you agree to receive the messages you specifically requested and related replies. Requesting SMS from localbot is optional. SMS consent is not required to buy localbot, create an account, access localbot, submit a non-SMS request, or complete any transaction. Message rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.
For SMS support, email hello@localbot.io. SMS delivery depends on mobile carriers and third-party providers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
11. Support, uptime, and changes
We aim for reliable service, but self-serve plans do not include a specific SLA unless we agree in writing. Support is available through hello@localbot.io. We may perform maintenance, deploy updates, change limits, or temporarily suspend features where needed.
12. Warranties
localbot is provided "as is" and "as available" to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, compliant for your specific business, or that every lead, SMS, email, AI message, site scan, integration, or summary will be delivered, accurate, lawful, or useful.
13. Liability
To the extent permitted by Finnish law, our total liability for all claims related to the service is capped at the amount you paid us for localbot in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. If you have paid less than one month of fees, the cap is one month of the then-current monthly fee.
We are not liable for lost profits, lost revenue, lost leads, lost business opportunity, lost goodwill, lost data, cover costs, business interruption, indirect damages, consequential damages, special damages, punitive damages, or losses caused by your website, your configuration, your legal notices, visitor behavior, telecom providers, AI providers, payment providers, hosting providers, or other third parties. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including liability for intent or gross negligence.
14. Indemnity
If a claim, fine, investigation, complaint, chargeback, telecom penalty, or third-party cost arises from your website, your data, your consent process, your use of localbot, your breach of these terms, your violation of law, or messages sent on your behalf, you agree to defend and reimburse Fokusbloks Oy and our team for the resulting losses, costs, reasonable legal fees, penalties, and expenses to the extent permitted by law.
15. Termination
You may stop using localbot and cancel your subscription at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms, fail to pay, create risk for us or our providers, use the service unlawfully, or create security, abuse, telecom, or compliance concerns. After termination, we may delete or retain data as described in the Privacy Policy and as required for legal, billing, security, backup, and audit purposes.
16. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that meaningfully affects active customers, we will give notice by email, product notice, or by updating this page before or when the change takes effect. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using localbot and cancel before the change takes effect.
17. Governing law
Finnish law applies. Disputes are handled by the courts of Helsinki, Finland, unless mandatory law gives you another venue. Finnish and EU consumer rights are not limited by this.
